The #1 Llamacorns (8-0) held off the #2 Jets (6-2) with an 18-7 performance to remain undefeated for the regular season. The #3 Mt Sinai Big Ten (6-2) had a strong 32-17 win over the #7 Comets. The Jets week six 22-19 win over the Big Ten is the deciding factor in the 2 & 3 seeding of these two (6-2) teams for the tournament. The #4 Faith Community Lady Sky (4-4) lost 19-22 to the Lady Bobcats but still hold firm despite the #5 Lady Wildcats (4-4) tying their record with a razor thin 16-14 win over the #8 SBC Sky. The Faith Lady sky beat the Lady Wildcats last weekend 31-24 to give them an edge in a tie break. The #1 Badgers (8-0) fought off the #4 Rattlers (4-3) taking a 35-18 win to close out a perfect regular season. The #2 Stingers (5-2) clipped the wings of the #5 Nighthawks (3-4) with a 3 point victory. The #3 Fighting Irish (5-2) had a close call with a 22-20 win over the #6 Bandits (2-5). The Stingers week 3 29-23 victory over the Irish gives them the edge in a tie break, therefore giving them the #2 tournament seed and the Irish the #3 seed. The #7 Bearcats (1-6) were not ending the season without a fight. They came out strong and took their first victory of the year with a 26-11 win over the #8 Shooters (1-6). With that victory it also boosts the Bearcats into the 7th seed going into the tournament. At the top of the conference, the two undefeated teams, #1 Warriors (8-0) and #2 Redhawks, battled it out to determine the #1 Western seed going into the tournament. The Warriors took a couple shot lead into halftime which turned out to be enough. The game was evenly played in the 2nd half with the Redhawks (7-1) taking a slight advantage but not enough to take the top seed. The #3 Sidon Hunters (6-2) won big over #11 Celtics to keep hold on the 3 spot going into the tournament. The #4 Panthers (6-2) out-paced the Athens Athletics 28-16 to stay in the top third of the Conference for the season. The Sidon Hunters 20-19 win over the Panthers on Feb 23rd giving them the edge in the tie break between the two teams, therefore the Hunters take the higher seed into the tournament. The #5 HCG Buckeyes won 26-18 over the #6 Bearcats. Both teams ended up .500 for the season with 4-4 records. The Athens Athletics, also finished 4-4 due to their loss against the Panthers. With all 3 teams records tied there performance vs common opponents was reviewed for seeding purposes. The Bucks finish at #5. The Bearcats come in at #6 and the Athletics head to the tournament as a 7th seed. The #8 CBC Buckeyes hammered the #12 Nazareth Carpenters 36-21. This win jumped the (3-5) Buckeyes up one spot from last week into the 8th seed in the tournament. The #9 Jericho Demolition (2-6) had a huge 29-27 win today over the #10 Wolfpack (2-6). That win bumped the Demolition up to the 9 spot and dropped the Wolfpack from 8 last week to the 10th seed going into this weeks tournament. As their records are tied the tie breaker would rely on this game which went to the Demolition. The #11 Celtics and #12 Nazareth Carpenters are both (1-7) for the season. Both the Cyclones and Storm finished the season with 5-3 records. They did not play each other this year. They played 6 common opponents. Of those 6 games, the Cyclones are 5-1 and the Storm 4-2. The Llamacorns easily took the Big Ten to remain atop the standings. The Big Ten came down the mountain a little bit from #2 to #3 as the Jets passed them. The Jets surged to #2 with TWO wins today. Win 1 was against the Comets (27-21) and win 2 was against the SBC Sky (32-22) in a makeup game from the week 1 whiteout. The Faith Lady Sky won 22-6 over the Lady Wildcats but both teams remain in the #4 and 5 spots respectively. No change from last weekend. The Lady Bobcats win over the SBC Sky not only broke an undesirable streak they were on but also helped them creep up one spot to #6 moving past the Comets who are now in the 7th spot. The Fighting Irish got the good end of the shalalie as they eaked out a 22-20 Overtime win against the Rattlers. The Stingers won 25-16 over the Shooters. In a complicated 3 way #2 tie, the Stingers, Fighting Irish and Rattlers are all 4-2. The Stingers beat the Irish in week 3, the Rattlers beat the Stingers in week 5 but the Irish won in OT over the Rattlers this week. So, currently there are 3 number twos but that will likely change in Week 8 as the Rattlers will take on the top ranked Badgers attempting to position themselves well going into the tournament. The Warriors bounced back from a rocky start to take the #10 Jericho Demolition 42-21 and remain undefeated. The Redhawks also remain undefeated after handing the Wolfpack a 27-19 defeat. With their loss, the Bearcats dropped from #5 to 6. The Panthers (4-1) clawed their way through the CBC Buckeyes to win 18-10 and remain in the 3rd seed. Their firepower was too much for the Machine to handle. The Heat remain undefeated at 5-0. The Cavaliers surprised the Wildcats with a 11-9 win today. The Cavs were down 8-2 at the half but went on a wild run late in the 3rd to tie it up and then hit a last second 3 to take a 3 point lead into the 4th. The Wildcats were not able to overcome the Cavs in the 4th so the 2 teams split their regular season matchups and the Cavs celebrate their 1st win of the season tonight. In another surprise win tonight, the Green Machine locked everything down in the 1st half vs the Crete Storm, taking a 8-0 lead into the 3rd. The Storm, who beat the Machine 21-12 earlier this year came out swinging in the second half. The Storm outscored the Machine 8-1 in the 3rd to make it 9-8 going into the 4th. With a couple clutch free throws and one huge basket, the Green Machine were able to hold out and take a 13-10 win in their second game of the day. The SBC Thunder 42-21 win over the Lightning helped them stay in the 7th seed, but it did cause the Lightning to drop from 8 to 10 in the standings. The Damascus Blinders 34-24 win over the Wildcats bumped them up to the 8th spot this week. Despite their loss to the CBC Thunder, the Rebounders moved up one spot to #9 due to the Lightning dropping to 10th. This was a last minute doubleheader to makeup a wk#1 snow cancellation but the Big Ten were ready and came to play (and WIN) today. They are now 4-0 for the season. Tied with the Llamacorns. The Wildcats won 28-22. In the 2nd round of the doubleheader, the SBC Heat took advantage of the Wildcats and turned up the temperature early on. They came out hot and the Wildcats couldn’t put out the fire. The Heat won 25-7.
